She is a member of the school’s Green Team and the founder of Project Growing Roots, a youth-led organization focused on empowering kids to combat the climate crisis through nature-based education. They do this with both the summer camp Eco Explorers and the after-school club Bio Buddies at the local elementary school. Since the end of last year, she has been captivated by Rainforest Trust’s mission to protect threatened acres of land and the invaluable species that inhabit them. She started organizing the Fun Run as a way to contribute to the cause, and make a positive impact on her surrounding community.
