This class includes techniques in interviewing with parents, infant & toddler care, diapering, feeding, creative reading, activities for young children, appropriate snacks, handling bedtime issues, basic first aid, and tips for a safe babysitting experience. Instructor Debbie Laflamme has a degree in Early Childhood Education and operated as a licensed daycare provider in Massachusetts caring for children of all ages in her home for over 20 years. Intro to Acrylic Painting - Intro to Acrylic Painting This class is for both beginners and intermediate students who would like to learn or improve basic acrylic painting skills. Students will learn about acrylic painting materials, color mixing, color theory, composition, value, and basic paint application techniques.Instructor Joy Buell, received both her BFA and MFA in printmaking from Yale University and a diploma from the school of the museum of Fine Arts. She is known to offer superb criticism and encouragement. She is honest and constructive in assessing students' strong and weak points and provides insightful instruction to foster further artistic development. Buell maintains a studio in Gloucester, Ma, and takes students to Europe to draw and paint...this August we will travel to northern Holland. Intro to Acrylic Painting - Intro to Acrylic Painting This class is for both beginners and intermediate students who would like to learn or improve basic acrylic painting skills. Students will learn about acrylic painting materials, color mixing, color theory, composition, value, and basic paint application techniques.Instructor Joy Buell, received both her BFA and MFA in printmaking from Yale University and a diploma from the school of the museum of Fine Arts. She is known to offer superb criticism and encouragement. She is honest and constructive in assessing students' strong and weak points and provides insightful instruction to foster further artistic development. Buell maintains a studio in Gloucester, Ma, and takes students to Europe to draw and paint...this August we will travel to northern Holland. Platypus Society: Middle School Program 2025-26 - Platypus Society: Middle School - Session IV Pass Welcome to the Platypus Society!Stow Recreation's Middle School afternoon program for kids in 6-8th grade.Program Options:Middle School Hour Club - [End of School Day - 3:30pm] (Free! All are welcome! No sign-up required.)Middle School Platypus Session - [End of School Day - 6pm] ($50/session pass, can come any day of the session)Daily Drop-Ins - [End of School Day - 6pm] ($5/day, must have Stow Rec. account on file)At the Pompo Community Center, 509 Great Road*Early Release Days - No Middle School Hour Club/Drop-Ins on Early Release Days. Session Pass required to participate on field trips. Please notify of planned participation through Session Pass on Early Release Days by at least 24 hours prior so field trip waivers and planning can be properly accounted for.
