Use of the Stow Acres North Course is currently shared with Stow Acres Country Club which will continue golf use of portions of the town-owned property until 2033.  The Recreation Commission and Conservation Commission have adopted the following interim rules for this period of shared use which may be revised from time to time as visitor facilities are created on the property.  The regulations are designed to preserve natural resource values, minimize user conflicts, and foster visitor safety.  Individuals using this property acknowledge the shared use of the land and do so at their own risk.  Please be respectful of other users.
 
The following interim rules shall govern the land controlled by the Town at the Stow Acres North Course:
 
Hours  -  ½ hour before sunrise to ½ hour after sunset, no night use permitting without advance approval.
 
Allowed Activities
  • Hiking, jogging, x-c skiing, snowshoeing, photography, nature study,
  • Picnicking (carry in, carry out).
  • Fishing
 
Activities Subject to Advance Permit Requirements
  • Group use of picnic shelter
  • Commercial activities, fee based programs or events, or organized group activities
  • Camping or Campfires
  • Night Use of the Property
 
Prohibited Activities
  • Biking (a bike rack is provided at the driving range)
  • Horseback Riding
  • Walking of Dogs or other Pets (on or off leash)
  • Hunting, Trapping and Target Shooting
  • Use or parking of motorized vehicles of any kinds (cars, trucks, snowmobiles, ATVs, motorbikes, drones, remote controlled aircraft, etc. except golf carts). Vehicles may be parked in the driving range parking lot or used for land management purposes.
  • Rollerblades, skateboards, scooters, swimming
  • Smoking of any kind or use of alcohol
  • Creating, trimming or maintaining trails, using chainsaws or performing any other unauthorized land management work.
  • Littering, dumping, release of animals, or collecting plants or other natural materials.
